SkyTran: Control System Intern
Work on linear motor control for maglev transportation system. Minimum requirement: network communications programming, C/C++, and CE107 (Mathematical Methods for System Analysis); CE252 (Modeling of Communications Protocols) desirable but not necessary. Will entail programming at home/campus + some hands-on work in NASA lab. This could be multiple teams or individual students working on competitive designs. Student performance assessed based on PRT simulator results.
SkyTran: Simulation Intern
Work on a PRT simulator and hardware-in-the-loop simulator using real-world traffic data. At minimum would need knowledge of Python. Extend previous work initiated by another UCSC student. Project work can be done at home/campus. Work with students and SkyTran staff to evaluate several control systems under different conditions.
